These smooth, non-textured surface thick ultra white smooth leatherette sheets are engineered for both laser engraving and full color UV printing. No white ink under the base is required for UV printing which will cut the print time and ink usage while still achieving bright, accurate color, print clarity, and sharp detail. Laser engraving is clean and crisp with sharp and dark detail with minimal residue. The thick and durable build is balanced for strength as well as flexibilty. The HEAT ACTIVATED adhesive activates quickly under heat for a permanent and reliable bond.

These lasered leatherette sheets are thicker than our other regular leatherette at approx. 1.7mm thick). We have starting point laser settings listed below.

Care Instructions:Ā 

Clean Laserable Leatherette with soap and water for a spotless finish without water marks. You can also use L.A.Awesome, which is another great option.

Extra Info:Ā  Ā Leatherette sheets are not sticky when protective cover is removed and will not adhere until heat is applied.

LEATHERETTE INSTRUCTIONS:

The top white layer is thicker than standard Laserable Leatherette.
To achieve theĀ bright white color, a second pass or more power may be needed.
Use a LOW frequency when vector cutting to avoid extra flare ups and ensure good air flow with air assist on when vector cutting.
Wipe with LA Awesome to clean any residue or you can put a layer of DAWN dish soap on the sheet before cutting which can help with extraĀ charring or yellowing.

These below settings are just a vague baseline, everyone's equipment will be very different so we highly recommend testing a small piece of leatherette first to find your machines optimal settings before applying leatherette to your finished product.
Raster Engraving:
35W- 25% S 90% P 600DPI
80W 25% S 85% P 600DPI
120W 30% S 75% Power 600DPI

Vector
35W 20%S 60%P 50hz (Scale of 1-5000hz)
80W 20%S 45P 10hz (Scale of 1-100hz)
120W 25% S 55% P 50hz (Scale of 1-5000hz)

The above settings should be used as a starting point as machines can differ and are expressed in percentages, not millimetres, as some laser settings are.

HEAT SETTINGS TO APPLY:

330 degrees top & 320 degrees on the bottom
Pre-press hat for 20 to remove moisture
Place a patch on to start activating heat and press with fingers for a few seconds Place a 1/16 silicone pad over and press for another 22-30 seconds at medium pressure

SINGLE PLATE HAT PRESS
Set temperature at 300 degrees
Pre-press hat for 20, place patch & hold with fingers for a few seconds. Place a 1/16 silicone pad over and press for 35-50 secondsĀ
